$450K Damage To Havre De Grace House Sparked By Space Heater Fire: MD Fire Marshal

A space heater sparked an overnight fire at a Havre de Grace home, causing $450K in damage. Around 65 firefighters battled the blaze.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — A space heater sparked a fire at a two-story Havre de Grace home early Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out around 2:26 a.m. in the sunroom at a home located at 324 Hill Ct. The owner discovered the fire and 65 firefighters with the Susquehanna Hose Company spent 45 minutes battling the blaze.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal has determined the fire to be accidental. The home sustained $450,000 in damage.

A firefighter, whose company was unknown, was taken to Hopkins Bayview in Baltimore via EMS for treatment of injuries sustained while battling the fire. Their condition was not immediately clear.
