5 Counties Under Flash Flood Watch

BREAKING: Several counties are under a flash flood watch calling for thunderstorms with potentially heavy rain.

BALTIMORE, MD — The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for several counties in central Maryland on Thursday. The watch calls for potentially strong, slow-moving thunderstorms.

The flash flood watch took effect before 2 p.m. Thursday and runs until midnight.

A flash flood watch means conditions could develop leading to flash flooding.

The following are under the flash flood watch: Baltimore, Frederick, Carroll, Harford and Washington counties.

Areas under the flash flood watch include Hagerstown, Frederick, Ballenger Creek,
Eldersburg, Westminster, Reisterstown, Cockeysville, Jarrettsville and Paw Paw.

Water levels could rise rapidly in these areas due to slow-moving thunderstorms that may bring heavy rain, weather officials said.
