$50K Damage To Abingdon Home Caused By Monday Morning Fire: MD State Fire Marshal
Five residents, including 3 children, have been displaced after a Monday morning fire broke out in their manufactured home, officials say.
ABINGDON, MD — A one-story home located at 4023 Sharilynn Drive caught on fire Monday morning. Three adults and two children have been displaced.
The fire was reported shortly after 8:30 a.m. at the manufactured home located in the Beechwood Mobile Home Community. The residents woke up to heavy smoke in the home and found a fire in the utility room. All five residents were able to escape the home safely, according to the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal.
Around 30 firefighters with the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company were able to limit the spread of the fire to the utility room and a bathroom in around 10 minutes. The fire caused upwards of $50,000 in damage to the structure and loss of contents.

Harford County Disaster Assistance is helping the family. The fire is being investigated by the state fire marshal's office.
