$50K Damage Caused By Fire At Abingdon Home: MD Fire Marshal

A mom and her 3 children weren't home when a fire broke out at their Abingdon house. The fire caused $50K damage, the MD fire marshal says.

ABINGDON, MD — A manufactured home caught on fire Thursday around 3:54 p.m. in Abingdon, prompting nearly three dozen firefighters to respond to the call for help.

The fire at the one-story manufactured home was first spied by a neighbor. Firefighters with the Abingdon Fire Company had it under control within 10 minutes. The owner and her three children were not at home at the time of the fire, which remains under investigation.

The home, located at 4039 Abinrox Dr., sustained $25,000 in damage and another $25,000 in loss of property, according to the state fire marshal's office.
