$50K Powerball Prize Will Go Toward Home Remodel For Belcamp Woman
A Harford County woman won $50,000 after matching four white balls and the Powerball in an August drawing, Maryland lottery officials said.
BELCAMP, MD — A Harford County woman who occasionally wins a few dollars playing Powerball got a much bigger surprise when she scanned a ticket and learned she had won $50,000.
“I couldn’t believe it. I never thought I would win this much money,” she said while claiming the prize at Maryland Lottery headquarters.
The Belcamp woman matched four of the five white balls plus the red Powerball in the Aug. 3 drawing, earning the game’s third-tier $50,000 prize.

The winning numbers were 8, 31, 41, 48 and 54 with a Powerball of 4. Her ticket had 51 instead of 31, leaving her one number short of the $748 million jackpot. She said she was still happy with the $50,000 prize. The woman plans to put some of the winnings into savings and use the rest to remodel her bathroom.
“There are always home projects that need to be done,” she said.
