A Bel Air mom sorted through her stack of lotto tickets from December and discovered a $50K winner. She plans to pay off bills.

BEL AIR, MD — A Harford County mom gathered up her collection of Powerball tickets from December and decided to check them recently. To her surprise, in her stack was a $50,000 Powerball winner from the Dec. 10 drawing.

“I called my husband and told him the news. He didn’t believe me. He thought I was joking,” she said when she claimed the prize at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.

At the time of the Dec. 10 drawing, the jackpot was at $930 million, on its way to $1.82 billion, before being won by an Arkansas player in the Christmas Eve drawing. The winning numbers for the Dec. 10 Powerball drawing, were 10, 16, 29, 33, 69 with a Powerball of 22. The Harford County resident came very close as she had four of the first five numbers and the Powerball for the third-tier prize of $50,000. She had the number 61 instead of 69, lottery officials said.
