$65K Raised At St. Baldrick's Head-Shaving Event For Peds Cancer Research
Nearly 60 people took the stage to have their heads shaved in support of kids with cancer. St. Baldrick's raised $65K at the 2026 event.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The 15th annual St. Baldrick's Foundation Event held this past weekend raised money for pediatric cancer research. Fifty-six people went on stage to have their heads shaved in symbolic support of kids with cancer, who typically lose their hair during treatment, and ended up raising an estimated $65,000.
For approximately five hours at Looney's Pub March 7, people stepped up to have their heads shaved. The event included a live DJ, basket and prize raffles, a 50/50 drawing, live auction, prize wheel and food and drink specials.
In all, the Bel Air St. Baldrick's chapter has raised more than $600,000.

"We are honored to be part of such a life-changing cause," said one of the event organizers, Todd McKinney. "Every head shaved, every dollar raised and every person who stands with us sends a powerful message of hope to children and families fighting cancer. It's a reminder that together, we can make a real difference. This event is not just about raising money it is also about giving hope to kids who deserve the chance to grow up and live healthy lives."
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-powered charity known for its head-shaving fundraising events, where “shavees” stand in solidarity with children who typically lose their hair during treatment.
