7-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 95 Causing Delays North of Joppa

Transportation authorities said the crash cleared after 6 p.m. but delays did not.

A crash during the evening rush hour is causing backups on Interstate 95 Monday for drivers heading north into Harford County.

I-95 north had been shut down past the Joppa exit for a seven-vehicle collision involving injury, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.

After 6 p.m., all lanes had reopened on I-95 past the exit for Mountain Road/MD 152 but backups remained, the Maryland Transportation Authority reported.

State transportation officials said the crash was reported at 5:38 p.m.

“Expect major delays,” the Maryland Transportation Authority advised.

By 6:15 p.m., the collision had been moved to the left shoulder, but backups had built to MD 24.
