8 Residents Displaced by Townhouse Blaze: Fire Marshal

The cause of a fire in Edgewood over the weekend remains under investigation, the fire marshal reported.

EDGEWOOD, MD – Eight people were displaced by a fire over the weekend in Harford County, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

At 10:18 p.m. on Saturday, the residents of a townhouse in the 600 block of Harr Park Court discovered the fire, which began on the back deck, the fire marshal reported.

Approximately 25 firefighters responded, bringing the blaze under control in 25 minutes, according to the report.

The fire marshal said there was $80,000 in structural damage, and $10,000 worth of items inside the home were lost as well.

According to the fire marshal, the six children and two adults who had been living in the middle-of-the-group townhouse were displaced and being assisted by the Red Cross.
