$828K Lotto Win Empowers Retiree To Pay Off Debt, Take Trip

A Bel Air retiree was stunned when he won an $828,616 progressive jackpot. He plans to use his windfall to pay off debt and take a vacation.

BEL AIR, MD — A $5 scratch-off ticket ended up becoming a $20 Fast Play ticket that netted an $828,616 progressive jackpot win for a bel Air man.

The retired manager prefers to play scratch-off tickets but when his first ticket won, he took a chance with a Fast Play ticket that was bought at the Royal Farms store at 1601 Churchville Road in Bel Air.

After scanning his ticket the first time, he was still unsure if he had won. He then visited a nearby store for some additional confirmation. Not only did the store clerk confirm his near $1 million win, he also checked the lottery website where he learned a winning ticket had been sold that same day from the same Royal Farms store he had visited.
