9/11 In Harford County: Memorial Service, Run, Motorcycle Ride
There are multiple events this week to remember 9/11 in Harford County.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Motorcyclists streamed from Harford to Baltimore County in a memorial ride over the weekend honoring those who died in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and fighting the war on terror ever since. The event was one of several planned for this year to remember 9/11.
The 9/11 Patriot Day Ride traveled from the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company to Putty Hill Avenue in Parkville Saturday in the 8th annual event organized by the Hope and Peace Foundation.
On the 18-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks this Wednesday, County Executive Barry Glassman invites all Harford County citizens to join him and county employees in a moment of silence in front of the county government building at 220 South Main Street in Bel Air.

"Eighteen years ago, our nation was shocked by the 9/11 attacks," Glassman said. "We will not let the passage of time dim the light of remembrance for the innocent victims of that terrible day. Those who were lost, and their families, will remain in our hearts forever."
Glassman will lay a wreath at 8:40 a.m.then introduce a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, the time the first plane crashed into the World Trade Center.

Nearly 3,000 people have died as a result of the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Among those who lost their lives was Joseph V. Maggitti, 47, of Abingdon, who was reportedly at the World Trade Center for a morning meeting.
Here are the events planned for Wednesday, Sept. 11:
- Run to Remember Memorial 5K, 6:30 a.m. at Aberdeen Proving Ground parking lot
- Harford County 9/11 Ceremony, 8:40 a.m. at 220 South Main Street, Bel Air
- 9/11 Memorial Service, 7–7:30 p.m. at Darlington Volunteer Fire Company, 1520 Whiteford Road, Dublin
