9/11 Memorial Ceremony Planned For Monday Morning In Harford County
A 9/11 memorial ceremony will be held Monday morning in Harford County and flags have been ordered to fly at half staff.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The Harford County flag will be lowered from sunrise to sunset Monday and there will be a memorial ceremony at 8:30 a.m. to commemorate the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
The ceremony will be held at the county’s emergency services facility at 2220 Ady Road in Forest Hill.
At 8:46 a.m., the exact time that the first plane struck the World Trade Center in 2001, Harford County Executive Bob Cassilly invites citizens to observe a countywide moment of silence to remember the brave people, the lives lost and families of 9/11.

“Bringing the community together is an important way to honor the innocent victims and their families. We must not allow time to dim our memories of their deeds,” Cassilly said.
Ladder trucks from the Fallston and Whiteford Volunteer Fire Companies will form an arch to fly the American flag from their ladders extended approximately 50 feet above for the ceremony. A bagpiper and local high school students will perform during the ceremony.
