9 Candidates File For Bel Air Town Commissioner In 2019 Election

Before the Bel Air town election, held the first Tuesday in November, get candidate and voting information.

BEL AIR, MD — Election day is Tuesday, Nov. 5. Three seats are up for a vote in Bel Air on the board of town commissioners.

The town holds elections every two years. Commissioners serve four-year terms.

The election will take place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Bel Air Town Hall, 39 North Hickory Avenue, Bel Air.

Nine people have filed as candidates in the 2019 Bel Air election:

  • Philip L. Einhorn
  • Daniel W. Gray
  • Erin S. Hughes
  • Donna L. Kahoe
  • William S. Kelly
  • Michael D. Kutcher
  • James C. Lockard
  • James V. "Capt'n Jim" McMahan

To qualify as a candidate, people had to live in Bel Air for at least six months before the election, file a financial disclosure statement, be approved by the ethics board and pay a filing fee.

Who can vote?

All residents of Bel Air may vote in the election as long as they have lived in the town for at least 21 days; are at least 18 years old; and are citizens of the United States who have not been disqualified for voting. The deadline to register to vote in the 2019 Bel Air election is Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Do you need to register?

Voter registration applications are available at the Harford County Elections Office at 133 Industry Lane, Forest Hill; the Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles at 501 W. MacPhail Road, Bel Air; Bel Air Town Hall; or online at the Harford County Board of Elections. People may also call the Harford County Board of Elections at 410-638-3565 for more information.

Do you need to vote absentee?

Those who would like to vote absentee must apply by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29.

Absentee ballot applications are available by contacting the Harford County Board of Elections in these ways:

  • Visiting 133 Industry Lane, Forest Hill, MD 21050.
  • Calling 410-638-3565.
  • Faxing 410-638-3310.
  • Emailing elections@harfordcountymd.gov.

Absentee ballots must be received and stamped by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Bel Air Town Hall, 39 N. Hickory Avenue, Bel Air.
