911 Call Leads To Lockdown At Dublin Elementary

BREAKING: Authorities said a man was in his vehicle when he was assaulted near Dublin Elementary School.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Officials said Dublin Elementary School was briefly placed on lockdown Thursday following an assault. A man had been assaulted nearby and called 911 from the school parking lot, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were called to the parking lot of the school in the 1500 block of Whiteford Road at 2:48 p.m., officials reported. Out of an abundance of caution, Dublin Elementary School was placed on lockdown.

Based on the preliminary investigation, authorities said the man was assaulted while in his vehicle nearby; after the assault, he reportedly drove to the elementary school parking lot to notify law enforcement.

The suspects were described as two women who were traveling in the area, officials reported, and they both left after the assault.

"The incident presented no threat to the school or students at the school," the Harford County Sheriff's Office said in a statement after 4 p.m.

Dismissal at the school is at 3:30 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
