Abingdon Hosting Maryland Wawa Day Celebration 2018
Each state where the chain operates is hosting one special in-store celebration. Maryland's is in Abingdon.

ABINGDON, MD – It's Wawa Day on Thursday, April 12. That means free coffee for Wawa visitors to thank them for their support on the 54th anniversary of Wawa's founding.
To celebrate the chain's birthday, it is also holding in-store celebrations in each of the six states where it's located. In Maryland, the party will take place in Abingdon.
Athletes and representatives from the Special Olympics will receive checks from the Wawa Foundation, the nonprofit organization that has donated more than $50 million to charities since it began in 2014.

The Maryland Wawa Day celebration will feature members of the Harford County Unified Basketball team, in which those with and without intellectual disabilities play on the same team to practice and compete. They will speak about the impact the foundation has had on them.
Wawa Foundation board members and charity partners will make remarks around 9 a.m., and the store will unveil digital signage thanking customers for their patronage and helping the Wawa Foundation to achieve the $50 million milestone.

Wally Goose, who is Wawa's mascot, will be there for the festivities.
The Maryland Wawa Day celebration will be at 3500 Woodsdale Road in Abingdon.
On "Wawa Day," guests may treat themselves to a free self-serve coffee at any Wawa store, including the Abingdon location, as the company celebrates its 54th birthday. Each person is limited to one coffee of any size, free of charge, as part of the Wawa Day festivities. Find the nearest Wawa stores.
