Three Adults Displaced By Abingdon House Fire: Officials

The fire marshal said that what caused the fire Monday morning at a home in Abingdon was an accident.

ABINGDON, MD — A house fire in Abingdon Monday morning left three people without their home and their dog. When crews arrived, they reported heavy fire was coming from the garage attached to the home.

Someone inside the residence in the 400 block of Crisfield Drive had discovered the blaze and notified authorities at 10:08 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, officials said.

The Abingdon Fire Company responded along with crews from Joppa-Magnolia, Bel Air, Fallston and Kingsville.

The fire marshal ruled the blaze accidental, caused by an electrical failure in the garage.

As a result, there was $50,000 in structural damage, while $25,000 worth of items were also lost in the blaze, the fire marshal said.

Three adults were displaced, officials reported, and the Harford County Disaster Assistance team was helping them.
