Abingdon Man Arrested After 5-Count Child Pornography Indictment
Officials said a tip from a concerned citizen launched the investigation by the Harford County Child Advocacy Center.

ABINGDON, MD — An Abingdon man has been indicted on charges of possessing child pornography. He is a former dentist, according to the Harford County Child Advocacy Center, which is handling the investigation.
John Doran, 67 of Abingdon, was arrested after a grand jury handed down a five-count indictment on charges of child pornography possession, officials reported.
Authorities said that they became involved after a tip from a concerned citizen led to a search and seizure warrant at Doran's Abingdon residence.

While investigators were searching his home, officials said he admitted to having child pornography, and they recovered personal electronics and other evidence supporting that.
The grand jury issued the indictment on Oct. 16, Doran was arrested on Oct. 18 and he was released on bond on Oct. 19, officials reported on Tuesday, Oct. 23.

Doran was believed to have been a dentist in Delaware from the 1980s through the early 2000s, authorities said.
