Abingdon Man Charged With Arson In Edgewood House Fire: Officials
The fire marshal said a Harford County man was charged with arson, stalking and other charges related to Friday's house fire in Edgewood.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — An Abingdon man was charged with arson after a house in Edgewood went up in flames Friday morning, according to authorities. Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set and reported Saturday they had made an arrest.
Thomas C. Gibb, 34, of the 1800 block of Walton Road in Abingdon, was charged with first-degree arson; first-degree malicious burning; stalking; malicious destruction of property over $1,000; and malicious destruction of property under $1,000.
Officials said nobody was inside the house in the 600 block of Tupelo Court in Edgewood when crews were called for a report of a fire at 6:15 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 16. Within minutes, emergency personnel arrived and found the single-family house in flames.

About 25 firefighters from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company and surrounding agencies responded and brought the fire under control within 20 minutes, authorities reported.

Gibb was arrested Friday night at his job, with help from the Harford County Sheriff's Office, the fire marshal reported. Gibb is currently being held at the Harford County Detention Center without bail. He has a bail review hearing at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Harford County District Court.
Officials said the fire caused an estimated $150,000 in damage.
