Abingdon Man Indicted In Connection To Sexual Assault On Cruise Ship: Official
A 21-year-old Abingdon man has been indicted in connection to a sexual assault that happened aboard a cruise ship in January.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A 21-year-old Abingdon man has been indicted in connection to a sexual assault that happened on a cruise in January.
According to the indictment, between Jan. 1 and Jan. 2, Jalen Thomas Kelley "engaged in a sexual act by force" and assaulted the victim without consent on board Carnival Legend, which departed and arrived from Baltimore.
Kelley faces charges of aggravated sexual abuse, sexual abuse and assault within the territorial jurisdiction. Kelley was arrested by the FBI Charlotte Field Office in Wingate, North Carolina, on Sept.20. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
