Abingdon Man Has Been Found: Sheriff

An Abingdon man who disappeared after leaving Sheppard Pratt in Towson has been located, officials say.

ABINGDON, MD — An Abingdon man who did not return home from a hospital in Towson has been located, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Kevin Coates, 59, was last seen around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. When he disappeared, he was wearing a Ravens shirt and sweatpants.

Authorities said he was leaving Sheppard Pratt in Towson and was expected to return home on Harrogate Way in Abingdon but never arrived.

Officials asked for help finding Coates Thursday, Aug. 26, and said he was located that evening. He was safe and unharmed, according to the sheriff's office.
