All Clear In Abingdon After Police Activity: Sheriff
The Harford County Sheriff's Office lifted a shelter-in-place order in Abingdon on Tuesday, May 7.

ABINGDON, MD — The shelter-in-place order issued by the Harford County Sheriff's Office has been lifted for members of an Abingdon neighborhood. Due to police activity, those living near Porter Drive and Berlin Court were advised to stay indoors for several hours on Tuesday, May 7.
Before 1:30 p.m., the sheriff's office told residents in those areas to stay inside. The guidance was given as authorities were dispatched at 1:27 p.m. to a report of an armed person who was suicidal.
After making multiple attempts to contact the man inside, law enforcement entered the home and found the 18-year-old dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities gave the all-clear after 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7.
"There is no threat to the community,"the sheriff's office said in a statement. "Neighbors can leave their residences at this time. Detectives are still on scene."

PREVIOUS REPORT — Some Abingdon residents were asked to stay inside Tuesday afternoon due to police activity in the area. The impacted neighbors were around Porter Drive.
Porter Drive and Berlin Court were closed, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7.
"Due to ongoing police activity on Porter Drive in Abingdon, residents in that area are asked to stay indoors," the sheriff's office advised.
