Abingdon is Site of National Night Out 2015

Harford deputies will hang out with community members in Abingdon Tuesday evening for National Night Out.

More than 16,000 communities nationwide are participating in the 2015 National Night Out, according to the National Association of Town Watch, which has coordinated gatherings across the country for decades to get citizens and law enforcement to interact under positive circumstances, with the goal of uniting against crime.

The National Night Out in Abingdon will feature the following activities, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:

• Face painting
• Harford County Sheriff’s Office fingerprinting exhibit
• Giveaways
• Maryland State Police car exhibit, crime prevention information, alcohol awareness booth
• Snacks, including cotton candy
• Motorcycle exhibit with bike safety tips
• Boys & Girls Club booth
• Back-to-school supply raffle
• United Way booth
• Gift card raffle

The National Night Out event will be from 5:30–8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, in the parking lot of Target at 403 Constant Friendship Boulevard in Abingdon.
