National Traveling Museum Celebrating America 250 Stopping in Bel Air May 11 – 13

American Legion Post 39 in Bel Air will host the interactive traveling museum bringing American history to life for all ages.

The story of American independence comes alive inside Freedom Truck 250, a traveling museum that will stop in Maryland May 11 - 13 at American Legion Post 39 in Bel Air. The free exhibit for all ages includes an AI-powered portrait of George Washington and other interactive features, a wall of heroes, and displays of the nation’s founding documents.

“Freedom Truck 250 is an exciting opportunity to learn about and celebrate America 250 and the principles of freedom, equality, limited government, the rule of law, and individual responsibility that make this country great,” County Executive Bob Cassilly said. “My administration is proud to support this effort, and I encourage families, school groups, Scout troops, and citizens of all ages to experience this unique exhibit.”

A group of American Legion Riders, motorcycle-riding members from Post 39, will escort Freedom Truck 250 to American Legion Post 39 at 500 N. Hickory Avenue on Sunday, May 10. The museum will be open to the public as follows:

10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday, May 11

10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 12

Music will add to the festive atmosphere, and food trucks will be on hand during limited hours.

“American Legion Post 39 is honored to have been selected to host Freedom Truck 250 in Harford County,” Dr. Ned Hoedebecke, second vice-commander, said. “We hope to see many citizens visit and take pride in American history.”
