HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Bicyclists can register now for Harford County's Bike to Work Week events May 12 and May 15.
County leaders are celebrating National Clean Commute Month in May with Bike to Work Week pit stop events in Bel Air and Edgewood. The pit stops are designed to promote biking as a fun, healthy and low-cost transportation option and will include light refreshments, music, a bike parade, prizes and more.
“Whether you’re an avid cyclist or just enjoy riding, bicycling can be a practical and enjoyable way to get around,” Harford County Executive Bob Cassilly said. “I encourage everyone who can to take part in Bike to Work Week, stop by the pit stops, connect with fellow riders and experience firsthand the benefits of biking in Harford County.”
This year’s pit stop locations will be open rain or shine as follows:
• Bike FROM Work, Tuesday, May 12 | Edgewood, 4:30-6:00 p.m., Edgewood Branch of Harford County Public Library, 629 Edgewood Rd.
• Bike TO Work, Friday, May 15, | Bel Air, 7- 8:30 a.m., Harford County Government Administration Building, 220 South Main Street
Participation is free but registration is required and will be open at each event.
