BEL AIR, MD — A Conowingo man has been arrested in connection with an attempted kidnapping investigation stemming from an incident in Bel Air, police announced Tuesday.
The Bel Air Police Department said detectives identified a suspect through their investigation into the Saturday incident. On Monday evening, officers arrested 32-year-old Christopher Jene Lane following a coordinated effort with the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
Lane was taken to the Bel Air Police Department, where he was interviewed, processed and formally charged. Investigators also seized a vehicle believed to be connected to the case.
Lane is charged with attempted kidnapping, attempted kidnapping of a child under 16, and attempted false imprisonment. He is being held without bond.
Police said no additional details about the case are being released because the investigation remains active and the case is pending in court. Authorities also cited the need to protect the privacy of the juvenile victim.
The Harford County Sheriff's Office and the Harford County State's Attorney's Office assisted with the investigation.
