FALLSTON, MD — A 23-year-old man was killed and another man remains hospitalized after a shooting at a large house party in Fallston.
Deputies responded shortly after midnight Saturday to the 2300 block of Willow Vale Drive for reports of a shooting and discovered what investigators described as a chaotic and rapidly evolving scene, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
The victim who died was identified as Jordan Jennings, 23, of Windsor Mill. He was pronounced dead after he was taken to a local hospital. A second victim, Joseph Evans, 34, of Owings Mills, remains in stable but critical condition.
Investigators said both men appear to have been shot outside the residence.
According to investigators, the homeowner was not at the residence during the party and was notified after the shooting. The party was organized by the homeowner's adult son, police said, and investigators determined tickets were sold through an online app. Armed security personnel had been hired for the event and were present when the shooting occurred.
The Sheriff's Office said it had not received any calls for service related to the party before the shooting.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the motive and circumstances of the shooting. No charges have been filed, and investigators are reviewing evidence and witness statements to determine who fired the shots and reconstruct what happened.
Because many attendees traveled from Washington, D.C., Baltimore and outside Harford County, investigators said the process of interviewing witnesses and analyzing evidence is expected to take time.
Anyone with information or video from the incident is asked to contact Detective Thumma at 443-567-7201. Anonymous tips are also accepted.
