HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A bridge on Darlington Road in Harford County will close during daytime hours for four days next week while crews remove trees and other debris left behind by recent storms.
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration said the MD 161 (Darlington Road) bridge over Deer Creek will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily beginning Tuesday, July 14, through Friday, July 17, weather permitting.
Maintenance crews will use a crane and other heavy equipment to remove large trees and debris lodged beneath the bridge at the abutments.
During the closures, motorists traveling on MD 161 between U.S. 1 (Conowingo Road) and MD 155 (Level Road) will be detoured via U.S. 1, MD 136 (Priestford Road) and MD 155.
If weather delays the work, the closures will take place on the next available day.
Drivers with questions about the project can contact the State Highway Administration's District 4 Maintenance Division at 410-229-2300 or 866-998-0367.
