"We've been having so much fun with this campaign," Carla Mattioli, assistant vice president and marketing director at Harford Bank, told Patch. "To be crowned Harford Bank's Top Dog, contestants first had to visit one of our nine branches and pick up an official contest ball. They then submitted a photo of their dog interacting with the ball, with the Harford Bank logo visible in the image. We received 60 entries from across the community."

Once the submission period ended, all of the photos were posted on Harford Bank's Facebook page, and the public voted for their favorites. Remy earned the most votes and Oakley was the runner-up.

"The contestants were community pets submitted by local dog owners. We wanted the contest to encourage community participation while supporting a cause people care about," Mattioli told Patch. "The idea came from our desire to create a deposit promotion that was engaging, memorable and uniquely community focused. People love their pets, so combining a fun dog contest with support for the Humane Society of Harford County felt like a natural fit. As a community bank, giving back is part of who we are."

Not only did Harford Bank receive a considerable amount of interest in the contest, but feedback from everyone has ben remarkable.

"The response has been tremendous. We had great participation in the contest, strong engagement on social media and positive feedback from customers and community members. People appreciate knowing that when they open an account, they're also helping local pets in need. It makes them feel good about banking with an organization that's invested in the community," Mattioli told Patch. "And having Miss Maryland join us to crown Remy and officially kick off the Sit. Stay. Save. campaign made the event even more special and helped shine an even brighter spotlight on the cause."

For the campaign, thoughout August, Harford Bank will donate $25 to the Humane Society of Harford County for every new deposit account opened and funded with new money.

"Having Miss Maryland, Gianna Romero, crown Remy as our Top Dog was the perfect way to kick off Sit. Stay. Save.," Mattioli said. "This campaign combines community involvement with support for the Humane Society of Harford County, and we're excited to see the impact we can make together for local pets in need."
