Man Convicted In Fatal Shooting At Aberdeen Intersection

ABERDEEN, MD — A Harford County man has been convicted in the fatal shooting of a man found lying in the road last year.

On Wednesday, 35-year-old Trevor Taylor of Aberdeen was found guilty after a four-day trial of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, loaded handgun on person and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence.

Evidence presented at Taylor's trial showed that on Jan. 23, 2025, at approximately 8:28 p.m., Aberdeen police officers were dispatched to the area of Washington and Dorsey streets. Witnesses calling 911 reported a man lying in the middle of the intersection despite the freezing cold weather.

Officers found Travis Marquise Davis unresponsive with two gunshot wounds to his chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers found a loaded handgun near his body and a spent 9mm shell casing near his head.

Investigators scoured the area for witnesses and surveillance video footage. They found footage of four gunshots and a light-colored sedan speeding away from the scene, court documents showed.

Detectives later saw a car matching the description of the suspect vehicle parked in the driveway at 422 Washington St. It had had bodywork done and was registered to Trevor Martin Clifton Taylor.

On Jan. 29, detectives were called to 417 Washington St. in Aberdeen and reviewed surveillance video footage from Jan. 23. They saw a person throwing objects into the sewer system out front of the home. Court documents revealed that the individual captured on the surveillance footage was identified as Taylor.

Investigators searched the sewer system and surrounding area and found a 9mm shell casing that matched the one found near the victim's body. They also found matching bullet holes in the suspect vehicle.

Detectives conducted a shooting incident reconstruction that showed Taylor shot Davis twice in the chest. While falling to the ground, Davis was able to return gunfire, hitting Taylor's vehicle as it fled the scene, court documents showed.

"We have repeatedly shown and continue to prove that gun violence in our communities is not something we will tolerate in Harford County. Utilizing the incredible investigative efforts and shooting incident reconstruction from our law enforcement partners, I am proud that my office has once again removed another violent criminal from our streets, as we continue to demonstrate our success and commitment to keeping Harford County safe," stated State's Attorney Alison M. Healey after the trial.
