BELCAMP, MD — Detectives are investigating a shooting in Belcamp Monday where the victim went to the hospital on his own for treatment of a gunshot wound.
A Harford County sheriff's deputy was at the hospital around 11 p.m. when the 22-year-old man showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his upper body, the sheriff's office stated.
The initial investigation indicates the shooting happened on Caldwell Court North in Belcamp and the victim was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. The sheriff's office said the incident likely is isolated.
Detectives have canvassed the area near where the shooting happened to identify witnesses and gather additional information. They are actively working to identify potential suspects and establish a motive.
