Driver Trapped In Pickup After 2-Vehicle Crash In Bel Air

Firefighters had to extricate the driver of a pickup who was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Bel Air on Tuesday morning, officials said.

BEL AIR, MD — Emergency workers were called to the scene of a crash Tuesday morning near Route 1 and Kalmia Road.

According to the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company, crews arrived around 10:50 a.m. at the crash scene where they found two vehicles down in the ditch.

A person was trapped inside the pickup that was involved in the crash. Firefighters stabilized both vehicles first then used rescue tools to cut off the door and roof of the pickup then exctricated the person from the truck, the fire company stated on Facebook.

One person was taken to a trauma center for treatment while a second person was taken to a local hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to the fire company.
