Aberdeen Man, 70, Fires Shotgun And Hits Home

ABERDEEN, MD — Police officers have arrested a 70-year-old man they say fired a shotgun along East Bel Air Avenue.

The Aberdeen Police Department shared Friday that they received reports of shots fired Thursday around 11:20 p.m. in the area of East Bel Air Avenue. When they arrived at the scene, they found James Richard Homer, 70, of Aberdeen. Homer told police he fired his shotgun in the area, according to the Aberdeen Police Department.

Witnesses told police that Homer fired two rounds in the direction of a nearby apartment complex. During the investigation, officers located two suspected points of impact, including a street sign and a nearby residence. No injuries were reported, the police department stated.

Officers took Homer to the Harford County Detention Center where he was processed.
