Residents Advised To Avoid Court At Abingdon School During Renovation Project

Residents are asked to avoid the multi-purpose court at William S. James Elementary School while it's being renovated.

ABINGDON, MD — Residents are advised to avoid the multi-purpose court at William S. James Elementary School while crews renovate it.

The Harford County Department of Parks & Recreation is working with the county department of public works – capital projects and Harford County Public Schools on the project.

The court and surrounding area closed Oct. 2 for the full renovation, which will wrap up by May of 2027 and take two stages to complete, the county stated.

When completed, the court will offer areas for basketball, pickleball, four-square, hopscotch and kickball. The school is located at 1 Laurentum Parkway.

"Please refrain from entering the construction area and obey all signage when present. We appreciate your patience as we are making improvements to William S. James Elementary School campus, the county stated.
