Katzen Eye Group, Maryland’s largest private eye care practice, recently opened its newest location at 3401 Box Hill Corporate Center Drive in Abingdon, Maryland.
The 9,000 square foot office will provide a variety of subspecialties including pediatric ophthalmology, retinal care, glaucoma services, oculoplastics and aesthetics. Additionally, the new practice will feature the very latest in clinical and diagnostic technology.
Dr. Joe Navaleza (aka Dr. Joe) and Dr. Lauren Gormley will lead the Harford County office. Dr. Navaleza is a general ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and refractive surgery. He also treats patients with complex eye disorders such as glaucoma and macular degeneration. Prior to joining Katzen Eye Group, Dr. Navaleza worked at Parris-Castoro Eye and Laser Center in Bel Air, MD. Dr. Gormley has been with Katzen for more than five years and is the low vision specialist, working closely with the retinal department, helping patients who have reduced sight, which cannot be corrected with eyeglasses, surgery or medical treatment, to utilize their existing vision.

“While other practices in Harford County have eye care specialists, Katzen Eye Group has the greatest scope of the various sub-specialists at our new location. That said, we are able to serve Harford County’s growing need for comprehensive eye care services all under one roof,” said Janna Mullaney, COO of Katzen Eye Group.
Since November 2011, Katzen doctors have been seeing patients at a temporary location at 3435 Box Hill Corporate Center Drive. On Thursday, July 26 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Katzen will host an open house for community members to tour the new facility and to meet the doctors.
