APGFCU Honors Harford County Sergeant in 'Spotlight a Soldier' Program

Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union (APGFCU) is proud to announce the selection of Army Sgt. 1st Class Jason Edward Bierly as the honoree in this year’s “Nominate a Member – Spotlight a Soldier” program. Each year, the credit union invites members to submit essay nominations of local military servicemen or servicewomen to be honored. The promotion is launched annually in May, during the nationally celebrated Military Appreciation Month.

“All submissions spoke of the courage, dedication and sacrifice of each nominee. We are grateful to all for their service and pleased to honor Sgt. 1st Class Jason Edward Bierly,” said Don W. Lewis, president/CEO of the credit union.

Bierly was chosen by a panel of APGFCU judges who reviewed this year’s submissions and selected him as the honoree. Bierly, a credit union member for more than 20 years, was nominated by his parents. The senior Bierlys have been members for approximately 40 years and live in Harford County. Bierly has demonstrated exceptional courage throughout his service in the Army . He was honored with two Bronze Stars and a third one (for Valor) is pending. He showed kindness and compassion to his enemies as well as to his fellow soldiers, and was a hero to many, especially his family.
