Armed Robber Of Harford Bank Remains At Large: Police
A bank robbery sparked lockdowns and a search for the suspect Wednesday, the Bel Air Police Department reported.
BEL AIR, MD — A bank robbery Wednesday morning led to a manhunt and school lockdowns in Bel Air as authorities searched for the armed suspect. He remained at large Wednesday afternoon.
Police said Harford Bank at 505 South Main Street was robbed at gunpoint at 9:25 a.m. A man walked into the bank, pulled a firearm out of his backpack and threatened violence, demanding money from the tellers, police said.
Afterward, officials said he walked out headed north, and he has not been located since.

There was heavy police presence near Bel Air High School, where the Bel Air Police Department said it had established a perimeter before 11 a.m. "Please stay clear of the area," police advised at the time.
Bel Air Elementary, Bel Air Middle, Bel Air High and Homestead/Wakefield Elementary schools were on a modified lockdown, which was lifted and then reinstated, Harford County Public Schools spokeswoman Jillian Lader told Patch before 11:30 a.m.
Police said the lockdowns were preliminarily lifted because the scene was believed to have been stabilized, but new information called that into question and prompted a second round of lockdowns.
Originally, police advised the suspect left on a bike with silver handlebars.
Before noon, a bike was found, according to The Aegis, which said investigators thought the suspect may have been in the Homestead Village area at the time it was discovered.
By 12:10 p.m., Harford County Public Schools reported the modified lockdowns were lifted.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Detective Corporal Matthew Gullion of the Bel Air Police Department at mgullion@belairmd.org or 410-638-4522.
