Bel Air Man Charged In M&T Bank Robbery: Police

Two days after a bank branch was robbed in a Bel Air shopping center, police said charges have been filed.

BEL AIR, MD — Two days after a bank was robbed on Baltimore Pike, police said that a Bel Air man has been charged. He is in custody in another state, according to authorities.

The M&T Bank in the 500 block of Baltimore Pike was robbed around 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 27. Nobody was injured, and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the bank branch located in the Bel Air Plaza shopping center, police said.

Julius Elmo Montgomery III, 37, of the 1100 block of Spalding Drive, has been charged in the robbery, according to Detective Corporal Matt Guillion of the Bel Air Police Department.

Montgomery was taken into custody on unrelated charges in Virginia, where he is being held at a regional jail as he awaits extradition to Maryland, Guillion told Bel Air Patch on Monday, April 29.

The FBI's Baltimore field office, Harford County Sheriff's Office and Maryland State Police assisted with the investigation, according to the Bel Air Police Department.
