Bel Air Auto Auction Opens In New Location

BELCAMP, MD - The Bel Air Auto Auction cut the ribbon on its new digs on Thursday.

The dealership outgrew its location off Baltimore Pike and has opened a new facility on 185 acres off Philadelphia Road.

"The new auction will be able to accommodate continued growth in the marketplace and allow us to serve better our customers’ needs with ease and efficiency in a new state-of-the-art auction facility," Raymond Nichols, CEO of BSC America, said in a statement.

BSC America, which owns the Bel Air Auto Auction and the Tallahassee Auto Auction in Florida, will have its corporate headquarters at the new facility. The Bel Air Auto Auction’s Clayton Station facility in Edgewood will continue operating at 8 a.m. on Thursday and for various special auctions, according to Nichols.

The new BSC America Bel Air Auto Auction, technically in Belcamp, contains a 75,000-square-foot auction building with 10 lanes for auctioning vehicles. Inventory at the auction comes from dealers, financial institutions and donors. The new location offers convenience for dealers, Nichols said, because it's 1 mile east of Interstate 95.

There are sales every Thursday, and the first one at the new location took place after the 9 a.m. ribbon cutting.

In addition to the auction building, the site has a 50,000-square-foot vehicle enhancement center, including a mechanical shop, imaging center, paint booths, body shop and recon center, according to BSC America.

There is also a restaurant on-site, and the premises is equipped with wi-fi.

A major grand opening celebration will span two days in October:

There will be a GM Financial Closed sale at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct, 18, with a grand opening reception from 5:30-9:30 p.m. that evening.

The Bel Air Auto Auction's Annual Harvest and Grand Opening Sale, featuring its largest consignment of vehicles and a classic car event, are set for Thursday, Oct. 19

The Bel Air Auto Auction is at 4805 Philadelphia Road in Belcamp.
