Bel Air Beer Week on Tap in August

Beer lovers, this one’s for you.

The craft beer enthusiasts of Bel Air have banded together to come up with more than 60 “craft centric events” over several days.

Bel Air Beer Week, now in its first year, starts Tuesday, Aug. 4, and runs through Saturday, Aug. 8.

The event’s founder—Shane McCarthy, 25—is the general manager and beer manager at Ronnie’s Beverage Warehouse and hopes to raise awareness about craft beers.

McCarthy told the newspaper he also hopes to “bring new experiences to Harford County,” where “so many people say, ‘There’s nothing to do in Bel Air.’”

There will be plenty to do over the course of next week, from tap takeovers to a hayride.

“This event is going to be a success and when it is, it will show people inside and outside of Harford County what a great creative place Bel Air can be,” McCarthy told The Dagger.

Tuesday, Aug. 4

Saturday, Aug. 8

• Sean Bolan’s—Bring Your Own Vinyl Night. While Union Craft Brewing beers will be flowing, the records will be spinning. Kevin Blodger of Union Craft Brewing, Shane McCarthy (founder of Bel Air Beer Week) and Coda Records team up to play vinyl records all night. Bring your own and they will throw it on the table.
