Forest Hill Man Dies in Crash on Bel Air Bypass: Police

Police said a collision near Winters Run Bridge Thursday morning left one man deceased, another hospitalized.

BEL AIR, MD – A Forest Hill man died in a crash on the Bel Air bypass Thursday morning, according to Maryland State Police. His vehicle hit a school bus, whose driver was taken to the hospital, police reported.

Brandon Tolson, 20, was pronounced deceased at the scene, on the US 1 bypass near the Winters Run Bridge, according to police.

Police said that Tolson lost control of his Infiniti while going around a curve at approximately 11:19 a.m., as a heavy rainstorm was passing through the area.

Tolson was headed north on the bypass before the Winters Run Bridge when his car spun into the southbound lane and collided with a school bus, officials said.

Authorities said that the Infiniti was severely damaged when it was found, in the southbound lane of the bypass, and the school bus was on the shoulder.

The driver of the school bus— Carlito Pascual, 58, of Joppa—was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, according to police.

BEL AIR, MD – The Bel Air bypass is closed Thursday morning in one area due to a crash that officials described as serious.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision, a car and a bus, according to Sgt. Comer of the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barracks. The crash occurred at approximately 11:20 a.m., Comer told Patch.

According to WBAL, one person died in the crash, and it was not someone in the school bus.

There were no students aboard the bus, ABC 2 News reported.

The area of the bypass where the collision happened—by the Winters Run Bridge—was closed, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

Gardiner said Maryland State Police was investigating the crash.
