The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company reported that nobody was injured in the midday crash on Friday.

BEL AIR, MD — A vehicle crashed on the Bel Air bypass midday Friday, according to the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company. Despite the fact that the guardrail pierced the driver's side of the car, officials said nobody was injured.

The crash happened around 11:45 a.m. on the Bel Air bypass north of US 1/MD 24 split, officials said.

The guardrail went "clean through the engine compartment into the driver compartment," the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company reported. "Driver walked away. Very lucky person."
