Bel Air Field Fire Draws Crews From 3 Companies
A large field fire broke out Wednesday on Schucks Road, officials said.
BEL AIR, MD — Firefighters from several companies handled a field fire on Schucks Road Wednesday morning, officials said. The field was used for hay, and when the Abingdon Fire Company arrived at the scene, its crew said it called for backup due to the large size.
The fire occurred around 10 a.m. in the 1600 block of Schucks Road, according to Rich Gardiner of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company, which was called to the scene.
Bel Air sent a brush truck and engine to the field fire, Gardiner reported.

The Level Volunteer Fire Company also sent its crew to assist.
According to the Abingdon Fire Company, the dry weather has increased the potential for field fires.
