Bel Air First Responders Rescue 6-Year-Old at Gym

The girl got her arm stuck in a door, Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company reported.

Firefighters from Bel Air helped rescue a girl Thursday afternoon who was trapped at a Joppa gym, according to a report from the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company.

The 6-year-old had gotten her arm stuck in a door at Harford Gymnastics in the 700 block of Whittaker Mill Road, Rich Gardiner of the fire company said.

Using hydraulic hand tools, the Bel Air firefighters were able to free her arm, he reported. First responders often employ hydraulic tools like the “jaws of life” to rescue individuals from car crashes who are trapped in vehicles.
