Suspect Cited In Bel Air Hit And Run: Police

Bel Air police thanked social media friends for advancing the investigation into a hit-and-run crash involving an old Honda Civic hatchback.

BEL AIR, MD — Authorities say they have cited the driver suspected in a hit-and-run crash that caused thousands of dollars in damage a week ago in Bel Air. An older model Honda Civic was linked to the crash with the use of surveillance footage, police reported.

The Bel Air Police Department sent a shout-out to its Facebook friends after it issued the lookout for the vehicle.

"The suspect has been identified and will be cited for this incident," police said in a statement.

The crash happened on North Shamrock Road in the area of Malkus Way around 2:40 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, according to the Bel Air Police Department.

Police allege the Honda hit a parked vehicle and caused approximately $10,000 in damage. The car had been head north on North Shamrock Road toward Majors Choice Drive at the time of the crash.

The Honda should have extensive front-end damage, officials advised.
