Bel Air Home Damaged By Electrical Failure: Fire Marshal
Officials have determined that the fire Saturday afternoon at a house in Bel Air was accidental.

BEL AIR, MD — Fire that broke out on the back porch of a Bel Air home Saturday afternoon has been ruled accidental. The fire marshal said the porch fire caused thousands of dollars in damage.
Crews were dispatched to the 1300 block of Cheshire Lane at 12:59 p.m. after the residents noticed the fire and alerted authorities, officials said.
Firefighters from Bel Air and Fallston contained the blaze to the back porch within five minutes, before it was able to breach the attic, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

The fire marshal attributed the blaze to an electrical failure that occurred as the homeowner was using an electric smoker plugged into a wall outlet outside.
There was $10,000 in damage to the single-family home as a result of the blaze, according to the fire marshal.
