Bel Air Homicide Victim Identified
Authorities say they are continuing to investigate after a woman was found deceased outside a Bel Air apartment building.

BEL AIR, MD — The Harford County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim of Tuesday's homicide.
Marilyn Jaz Scott, 28, of Bel Air, was found deceased Tuesday morning outside an apartment building in the 200 block of Clarkes Ridge Court, officials said.
Authorities were searching for a suspect and reported Wednesday that the investigation was continuing.

Officials said they found Scott while responding to reports of shots fired at 5:58 a.m. She had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was deceased at the scene, authorities reported.

"This doesn't appear to be a random act of violence in the community," Major William Davis said Tuesday during a press conference about the murder. "We believe that she was a target of this assault. We don't believe there's a threat to anybody else in the community."
