Guide To Bel Air Kite Festival 2017

BEL AIR, MD — The sky may look more colorful this weekend in Bel Air. The town of Bel Air and APGFCU will host the Bel Air Kite Festival near Rockfield Park on Saturday.

This will be the 12th annual Bel Air Kite Festival. Music and food will be available. Admission is free.

People can bring their own kites or pick up a free kite while supplies last.

Worried you won't know what to do? Volunteers will be on hand to help kite-flying novices.

The windy weather is coming at the perfect time; gusts may be up to 24 mph on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. The forecast for Bel Air indicates temperatures will be in the high 50s.

What to bring: Chair, blanket, kite, picnic.

When to go: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 8.

Where it is: Rockfield Park ball fields, 501 East Churchville Road at South Shamrock Road.

What if it rains? Rain date is Sunday, April 9.
