Bel Air Kite Festival Slated For Saturday

The Bel Air Kite Festival will take off this weekend in Rockfield Park.

BEL AIR, MD — The Bel Air Kite Festival will brighten the skies this weekend. The annual event perfect for families and individuals is set for Saturday, April 14.

There will be 750 free kites on hand. Event sponsor APGFCU has made the giveaways possible, according to officials from the town of Bel Air, which is organizing the festival.

This marks the 13th annual event, which coincides with National Kite Month. The American Kitefliers Association and the Kite Trade Association International created the designation to introduce people to the art of kite flying and celebrate the start of spring. There will be kite festivals across the country to celebrate.
