Bel Air Man Charged After Threatening Roommate with Shotgun: Police

A man is accused of attacking his roommate with one weapon and threatening him with another, Bel Air police said.

Bel Air, MD — A dispute between roommates turned violent this week at a Bel Air apartment complex.

A 56-year-old man who lives in the 400 block of Moores Mill Road allegedly hit his roommate with a steel pipe, then threatened him with a shotgun during an argument, according to the Bel Air Police Department.

A neighbor called 911 to report the attack at approximately 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, and officers said the suspect had a shotgun under a blanket when they arrived. They were able to disarm him, and the man was taken into custody. He is charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and using a dangerous weapon with intent to injure.

The roommate suffered a large bruise, according to police.

The man accused of assaulting him is being held at the Harford County Detention Center on $75,000 bond.
