Bel Air Man Wins $50K Playing Summer Scratch-Off Game: MD Lottery
A Bel Air man is the first to win the top prize in a new game from the Maryland Lottery, according to lotto officials.
FOREST HILL, MD — A Bel Air man was the first person to win the top prize in a new summer scratch-off game from the Maryland Lottery. The player won $50,000 playing Hot 5s Hot Streak, which debuted in late July.
Lottery officials said the 58-year-old Bel Air man purchased his Hot 5s Hot Streak ticket early one morning amid the recent heat wave.
Before the cashier at the Royal Farms on Rock Spring Road finished ringing him up, the man had begun scratching the five fireballs on the $5 ticket.

The Bel Air man plans to use his prize money into a new home and his savings account, lottery officials reported.
Because it sold a top prize, the Royal Farms on Rock Spring Road earned a $500 bonus.
There are six other $50,000 tickets available in the game, according to the Maryland Lottery.
